Future-Ready: Decoding India’s New Labour Codes & Future University’s Commitment to You

The landscape of work in India has just shifted. With the Government of India notifying the four new Labour Codes effective November 21, 2025, we are witnessing the biggest overhaul of employment laws in decades.

For our students - especially those graduating in 2026 and beyond - this isn't just news; it's the rulebook for your first job. Whether you are an aspiring HR manager, a corporate lawyer, or a techie joining the gig economy, these laws directly impact your salary, your weekends, and your rights.

The Shift: What Changed?

The new framework consolidates 29 outdated laws into four streamlined codes:

Code on Wages, 2019: Ensures a universal minimum wage and timely salary payments.

Code on Social Security, 2020: Finally recognizes "Gig Workers" (freelancers, delivery partners), offering them social security.

Industrial Relations Code, 2020: Changes the rules on hiring and firing, making it easier for companies to adapt to market needs while managing disputes.

OSH Code, 2020: Focuses on the safety and health of workers, including modernized rules for leave and working hours.

Future University’s Commitment: We Don't Just Teach History, We Teach the Future

At Future University, we refuse to let our students graduate with outdated knowledge. We know that a syllabus created five years ago won't help you survive a job interview today.

Our Pledge to Every Student:

Curriculum Overhaul: Our Academic Council is already reviewing the syllabus for BBA, MBA, and Law programs to integrate these new codes immediately.

Practical Readiness: We are moving beyond theory. You won't just

learn what the law is; you will learn how to calculate a payroll under the new "50% Basic Pay" rule.

Industry Alignment: We are bringing in HR Directors and Legal Experts to conduct guest lectures on how these laws are actually being rolled out in corporate India.

The Role of the Faculty of Law & IPR: Bridging the Gap

Our Faculty of Law & IPR is taking the lead to ensure this information reaches every student on campus, not just the law students. Here is the roadmap for the coming semester:

1.The Law Department will host open-for-all sessions in the Classrooms.

Goal: To teach Engineering and Management graduates how to read their employment contracts in light of the new laws.

2. Legal Aid Clinic Support

The Legal Aid Clinic is opening a special "Employment Helpdesk." Senior law students, guided by faculty, will be available to answer queries from final-year students about their placement offer letters and bonds.

3. Digital Awareness Campaign

Leveraging our digital strengths, we will release bite-sized explainers and infographics on our social media handles (keep an eye on our Instagram page ).

 The world changes fast.

At Future University, we change faster. We are committed to sending you out into the professional world not just with a degree, but with the armor of up-to-date knowledge.
